St. Michael’s Weekly News - Wednesday, May 3, 2023

Dear People of St. Michaels,

Well, we had a few days of warm sunshine, but then things became rainy and cold again. It makes it hard to imagine that we might have warmer days, but your Vestry and Church Council over at Trinity Lutheran are still mapping out days when we will plan to hold worship outdoors (at 10 am) in July and August, followed by a BBQ lunch and even other times when we will worship together. We will announce those as we get closer to those months, but we ARE planning ahead.

We also have a Green Team at St. Michaels that has been on two Zoom calls concerning working to reduce and even eliminate the carbon footprint of our parish. This is a Diocesan goal for the future and our Green Team (one of about three in our Deanery) is learning more and even getting tools to measure our parish energy consumption and move from there. We all have a great concern for the wonderful world we live in; a great manifestation of God’s glorious creation. We will keep you up to date with our progress.

Enjoy the hope of sunny, warmer days as our new month of May happens this week.

In Christ,

Pastor Randy Knutson+

Two Concerts of Note:

Pastor Randy and Robin will be in a concert held twice in Mendocino, at the Presbyterian Church there on Friday, May 5th, at 7pm and then May 6th at 1 pm. It is the Spring performance of the Redwood Community Choir, in which Robin is the accompanist. Free will offering taken at this concert.

On Saturday, May 6th, our own Larsen Hall will host a fun concert of the six member, women’s acapella group In The Mix, which Robin Knutson is a member. The concert will be that Saturday at 4 pm. They practice in Larsen Hall regularly and have done concerts here before (pre-COVID). They will also have guests helping who were members of the Acafellas group: Jason Kirkman, Jim Jackson and Pastor Randy Knutson. A free will offering will be taken that day.
